Learn a Language for Free

Learning a language can be a lot of fun, apparently is good for keeping your brain healthy, through helping prevent dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. It can also be an enjoyable and frugal hobby.

I have started learning Spanish, which I am pretty terrible at, but hopefully I’ll improve rapidly. You can start learning the language for free from a couple of sites that I have found so far. I am trying duolingo, which is great as it is a very interactive website that even records your pronunciations to check if you are saying the words and phrases correctly! I also found a basic Spanish with FSI Language Courses, which has several volumes of recorded tapes that you can listen too. This is in addition to the links to free language lessons that can be found at openculture. How about you, know of any ways to learn a language for free?
