Is Gigwalk Any Good?
December 22, 2014
I recently heard about an interesting app called Gigwalk, which may provide a nice easy way to get some supplementary income. It is a free to download app that will recognize your location by the GPS in your phone, and provide you with a list of ‘gigs’ in your neighborhood that you have the choice of completing. The potential pay for the various gigs looks quite promising, with gigs advertised at around $5-$15, and interestingly, this app has already made the main stream media, being featured in Forbes, CNN and CNET. The type of gigs that you can complete include for example going to a store and confirming that a certain product is available, or checking out a local restaurant, etc.
I would be interested in hearing your experiences with the Gigwalk app, have you had positive or negative results?I recently downloaded the app to give it a go, but I can’t find any gigs near me, the closest so far have been around 30 miles away. I find this quite surprising, as I live in a major urban metropolis in Southern California. I would say that so far I am unimpressed by with the results, but I’ll keep checking it for a while to see if any gigs do become available near me before deleting it from my phone.
